Meta’s March 2026 advertiser check is paperwork, not your proxy

From March 2026 Meta labels the old “beneficiary” as the “advertiser.” If Business Manager asks you to verify, it wants identity documents or a matching business record. Changing your 4G IP does not finish that form.

Verification is a document and a code on the phone. It is not a new mobile IP.

What Meta changed in March

If you run Facebook or Instagram ads, you already know the Ad Library can show who benefits from an ad and who pays for it. From March 2026 Meta uses the word “advertiser” in place of “beneficiary.” Ads with transparency show verified advertiser and payer information.

Meta published that on its Business Help page about advertiser verification for ads transparency. Completing verification can also satisfy checks Meta requires before some accounts can keep publishing ads. Meta may match your business in a database with no extra upload, or it may ask for documents, a government ID, or a code sent to email, phone, or WhatsApp.

If verification is mandatory for your account, Meta may give you a deadline, pause ads, or restrict the account until you finish. If it is not mandatory yet, Meta still tells you to verify early so a later requirement does not stop delivery.

Why operators blame the IP

A paused campaign looks like a banned account. A verification prompt in Ads Manager looks like a security challenge. The first instinct, if you already sit on a mobile proxy, is to request a new IP and try again.

That does not complete the form. Advertiser is the person or company the ad is for. Payer is who pays. For an agency, the advertiser is the client. Meta wants those identities, not a fresher Telekom Slovenije address. A dedicated modem does not upload a certificate of incorporation. It does not receive the email code that must match the company website domain.

A shared pool can still make a login noisier: other customers’ traffic on the same SIM, an IP that moves on a timer, extra challenges that have nothing to do with verification. Those are reasons to want a dedicated line. They are not the March 2026 change.

What to do if Ads Manager asks you to verify

Do the paperwork Meta asked for. Confirm the deadline. Decide who the advertiser and the payer are. Use Business Suite (Authorizations and verifications) or Ads Manager (Advertising settings → Verifications and ad transparency). Meta says it updates status within two business days.

Keep the Business Manager on one consistent exit while you do that. Requesting a new IP in the middle of a review, or logging in from a shared pool that flips under you, only adds a second problem. If you need to know whether the line is yours, watch the public IP for an hour.

We sell one Telekom Slovenije 4G modem per customer, HTTP in the browser, a new IP only when you ask. That is a login path for one Business Manager. It is not advertiser verification. We do not promise Meta will restore a paused account. If the prompt is on screen, finish verification there — not in a proxy dashboard.

Will a dedicated 4G proxy complete Meta advertiser verification?

No. Verification is identity: a matching business record, official documents, or a government ID, plus a code to email, phone, or WhatsApp. A modem does not submit that.

Did Meta rename beneficiary?

Yes. From March 2026 Meta uses “advertiser” in place of “beneficiary.” Transparent ads show verified advertiser and payer information.

What if I skip the deadline?

Meta says existing ads may pause and you may not be able to publish new ads until you verify. In some cases the account is restricted until verification finishes.
